Big Money Moves the Blues
Hazard was once the town’s toast to the Blues in the Premier League after arriving at the club from LOSC Lille in the summer of 2012.
The Belgium international went on to establish himself as the best winger in England and one of the best strikers in Europe, scoring 110 goals and adding 92 assists in 352 appearances for the club; Direct contribution ratio .57/match. He also helped Chelsea win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and win the European League twice.
But the face of the golden generation of Belgium has found life in Real Madrid impossible since his move worth 115 million euros in the summer of 2019, and so far, he has made 43 games in two seasons and found the net. On only five occasions, with another eight assists scored.
Hazard has not done much to love the madridistas since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu. The left winger has suffered nineteen separate injury cases in the last 24 months, and his pay compared to what he has contributed on the pitch since his big move is certainly a point of contention.

It is also unclear whether there is room for Chelsea to favor a deal on paper or not. While Hazard is undoubtedly still dealing with many players still in the first-team squad, any deal made with the 111-capped Red Devil would put an extra burden on the attacking players.
President Thomas Tuchel can at the moment call up Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech as central attacking figures, while the likes of Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi are all players who could appear to the left of the front three. . Additionally, Chelsea continue to keep an eye on the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, and another former Inter player Romelu Lukaku as they search for a top midfielder to help the club move forward in their challenge to win the Premier League in 2021-22.
There’s little reason to expect Chelsea to seriously explore the idea of Hazard’s return, especially given his current salaries in the Spanish capital, but anything remains possible during the absurd season.
